The Story

Alan Beattie is the Chief Funding Officer at CapitalPitch, a seasoned angel investor, the former
head of commercial banking with HSBC Latin America, and deputy CEO of HSBC Europe. At
various times, Alan was responsible for private banking divisions in Luxembourg and Chile, and
for several years was president of an asset management business with $3bn of funds under
management

In the second instalment of our conversation with Alan, we went into the weeds on a number of
fascinating issues. We started with him talking about what it’s like to be battle-tested in the world
of corporate banking, and how he came out the other side. We also talked about leadership,
both in terms of founders and lead investors, debated investment potential in South East Asia,
and rounded it all off with FinTech and the future of banking. We covered a lot of ground in this
episode, so be sure not to miss it.
